Fomuse

How the town works

Everything about Fomuse on one page, in plain words. If something here and the contracts ever disagree, the contracts win, and we'd like to hear about it.

What it is

Fomuse is a collection of 888 plush muses with fomo eyes living in one tiny town on BNB Smart Chain. Each muse has a job. The job sets its work rate (W/s), and work rate decides its share of the $META the town earns every day.

The $META comes from trading. $FOMUSE trades on Four against $META with a 3% creator fee, and half of that fee goes to the muses.

Getting one

  1. Buy at least $50 of $FOMUSE inside the fomo app. What counts is what you paid, added up over your buys in the app. fomo takes its small fee out of that, and that's fine: type $50 and it counts. Came up short? Buy a bit more into the same position in the app: the site checks again every 10 minutes for a week and your muse moves in once it adds up. A position that pumped from a $5 buy doesn't count, a $50 buy that dipped does.
  2. Post a thesis on the $FOMUSE page in fomo.
  3. Your Fomuse moves in, usually within a minute, to the BNB Smart Chain wallet that received your $FOMUSE.

One muse per fomo account. Buys on Four, a DEX or a transfer from another wallet are not fomo app buys, so they don't count. The mint is free, the town pays the gas.

Which muse you get is dealt from a shuffled deck, so nobody picks their job, us included. See the art.

Jobs

JobMusesWork rateShare of the town

Share of the town is what one muse gets once all 888 have moved in. Before that every muse gets more, because the daily pay is split among fewer of them.

Work and pay

No staking and no lockup. A muse works while it sits in a wallet. The NFT contract tells the pay pool about every mint, transfer and burn in the same transaction, so the pay pool knows exactly how long each wallet held each muse, down to the second.

  • Every $META that reaches the pay pool joins one steady stream to all muses, split by work rate. What's still unpaid is spread over the next 24 hours, and every new deposit starts that window again, so pay keeps flowing as long as people trade.
  • Every 30 minutes the Fomuse wallet sends every holder's $META to their wallet and pays the gas, so you never have to claim. To get it sent, the wallet that holds the muse also has to hold at least 500K $FOMUSE, and it must have held that much for the whole last 30 minutes. A wallet that doesn't is skipped that round: its muse keeps earning, and everything it earned goes out in the first payout after the wallet qualifies. A wallet with less than 0.0003 $META waiting is skipped that round so the gas never costs more than the payout; it goes out once it adds up.
  • You can still claim yourself whenever you like. Then you pay the gas and the $META goes to your wallet right away.
  • 10% of every payout and claim buys $FOMUSE and burns it. You get the other 90%. The Claimed number on a muse counts the whole payout, burn included.
  • Sell a muse and it stops working for you that same second. What it earned while it was yours stays yours and is still sent to you.
  • Anyone can push a holder's earnings to that holder by paying the gas. The $META can only go to the holder, minus the same 10% burn.

What a muse might earn

The fee is 3%, half of it goes to the pay pool, and this shows what you get after the 10% claim burn. It ignores price moves of $META and is not a promise of anything.

The 3% fee

Four pays the creator fee in $META to the Fomuse wallet. Every 10 minutes the keeper claims it and splits it:

  • 50%goes into the pay pool and pays every muse by work rate
  • 30%goes to the town's offer for muses (they get burned)
  • 20%goes to the dev

Every claim, split and deposit is a transaction you can look up. The Work panel on the home page shows the running totals.

Burns

Two things buy $FOMUSE and burn it for good:

  • All of the 5% OpenSea royalty. Every Fomuse sale pays it, in USDG or BNB, whatever the sale was in.
  • 10% of every claim from the pay pool.

Both go to the burn contract. It swaps what it gets to $META, buys $FOMUSE with it and sends the $FOMUSE to the dead address. It has no withdraw, so there is nowhere else for it to go. Anyone can trigger a burn. Each one spends at most 0.05 $META and there are at least 2 minutes between burns, so a single burn is too small to be worth front-running. These buys pay the same Four fee and 3% creator tax as any other $FOMUSE buy.

Burned so far: starts at launch

The town's offer

The floor budget is a standing offer on OpenSea: 10 USDG for any Fomuse, for as many muses as the budget covers. Every 10 minutes the keeper turns new budget into USDG and keeps one collection offer up for that many. Anyone can sell a muse into it, on OpenSea or with the Sell button under Your muses, where a fomo wallet sells without paying gas. The seller gets the offer minus OpenSea's 1% and the 5% royalty, and the royalty burns $FOMUSE too. The offer pays its own gas out of the same 30%, so it never touches the rest.

A muse sold to the town is burned. Its work rate leaves the pay pool for good, so every muse still in town gets a bigger share of the daily pay from then on, and there are fewer Fomuse left.

The art

All 888 muses were drawn before launch, one character in 888 outfits, and each one passed a check for its eyes, stray text and extra characters. The whole set is pinned on IPFS, so nothing a Fomuse shows lives on our server.

Jobs come from the art number: 1 to 444 are Traders, 445 to 710 Waiters, 711 to 844 Office Workers and 845 to 888 Officials. The contract works out the job from the number and every number can be minted once, so the job counts can't drift and the minter can't make up a job.

The order the art is dealt in comes from a shuffled deck. Its fingerprint is written into the contract at deploy: published at launch. After the sell-out the seed goes on-chain and anyone can rebuild the deck and check every muse.

What nobody can change

  • The pay pool has no owner and no withdraw. $META leaves it only as a holder's own earnings.
  • Jobs and work rates are fixed in the NFT contract.
  • After deploy the NFT admin is locked: nobody can switch the transfer validator or let it move holders' muses. Like every ERC-721C collection, the owner can still set marketplace rules on Limit Break's validator, which we use to enforce the 5% creator earnings.
  • Each muse's metadata is written once. It can be corrected only until the metadata is frozen, which happens after the sell-out.
  • OpenSea creator earnings are 5% and all of it goes to the burn contract. The receiver is fixed in the NFT contract.
  • The claim burn is 10%, fixed in the pay pool. The burn contract has no owner and no withdraw: what it holds can only become burned $FOMUSE.

Contracts

  • The contracts go live with the $FOMUSE launch. Their addresses and verified source show up here.

FAQ

I bought $50 but no muse showed up

Check that the buy was made inside the fomo app and that you posted a thesis on $FOMUSE. The line on the home page shows every thesis, and under one that didn't mint, the reason. Most move-ins take under a minute.

Can I get two?

One per fomo account from the mint. You can buy more on OpenSea.

Where does my muse go?

To the BNB Smart Chain wallet that received your $FOMUSE when you bought in the fomo app.

Is $META the real Meta stock?

$META is the tokenized Meta Platforms stock on BNB Smart Chain. Like other tokenized stocks its issuer can pause it or block addresses, which is outside the town's control. Fomuse is a fan project and isn't affiliated with fomo or Meta Platforms.

Why is my claim 10% less than what my muses earned?

That 10% buys $FOMUSE and burns it. It happens inside the pay pool on every claim, yours and everyone else's.

Do I need to stake or lock anything?

No. Hold the muse and it works. Its $META comes to your wallet every 30 minutes while the same wallet holds 500K $FOMUSE, or claim it whenever you like.
